Charles Burroughs Unveils This Isn’t How I Pictured It at Cannes Marché du Film

Mad Cow Films director Charles Burroughs has released the trailer for his sharp, stylish, and brilliantly offbeat new short film, This Isn't How I Pictured It.

Described as a dark comedy, the film follows a (really bad) day in the life of a model on a chaotic quest for stardom. Witty, relatable, and full of personality, the trailer has already captured attention, hinting at a story that blends humour, satire, and a keen eye for character.

The short is currently screening at the Marché du Film in Cannes, available for viewing to all festival attendees — giving industry audiences an early taste of Burroughs’ distinctive voice and cinematic style.

“We’re thrilled to share the trailer for this project — it’s a story that’s sharp, stylish, and unapologetically offbeat,” says Daisy Thomson, Head of Sales.

The production brought together an exceptional creative team: Cinematography by Maxime Valsan, Production Design by Fannie Legrand, Costumes by Maude Bélisle, Editing by Charles Burroughs & Véronique Barbe, with Post-Production by Arketype.

This Isn’t How I Pictured It marks another exciting chapter for Charles Burroughs and the Mad Cow roster, showcasing storytelling that is both visually inventive and delightfully irreverent.
