Mad Cow Films director Adam Johnson has directed a trio of Halloween-themed films for Scrumbles, created by Mad Cow’s creative studio Milk Machine.
Released as part of Scrumbles’ Scarily Good campaign, the three films playfully reimagine iconic horror moments — with an unexpected twist. In each spot, the supposed ‘villain’ is revealed to be a not-so-terrifying (and very determined) cat, stopping at nothing to get its paws on Scrumbles’ Krunchies cat treats.
Blending cinematic horror tropes with humour and charm, the films strike a balance between tension and comedy, celebrating the sometimes-eerie lengths our furry companions will go to for a treat they love.
The campaign includes three films — Here’s Kitty, Do You Like Krunchies? and Purranormal Cativity — each drawing on recognisable genre references while keeping the tone light, self-aware and unmistakably feline.
Produced by Mad Cow Films and developed by Milk Machine, the project marks the second collaboration between Milk Machine and Scrumbles, and the latest example of the studio’s ability to deliver fully integrated 360 campaigns, from creative ideation through to execution.
The Scarily Good campaign launched just in time for Halloween, bringing a mischievous edge to Scrumbles’ brand and proving that when it comes to Krunchies, even the cutest cats can have a dark side.
